- Lead Qualification - Leads can come in from various sources (e.g. trade shows, internet, referrals). Inside Sales will make the initial contact and by asking a series of questions can determine how best to fulfill the customer's needs.
- Provide Specifications/Literature - Customers and outside sales representatives need the ability to obtain answers on specifications, codes and standards and literature while they are visiting or preparing to visit a customer. Inside Sales can provide this information quickly.
- Back Office Support for the Field - Inside Sales may be required from time to time to run reports and look up customer information for salespeople out in the field.
- Trade Show Attendance - Inside Sales will attend trade shows to collect leads and provide a face to new and existing customers to help generate new business.
- Lost Sales - Inside Sales will run order cancellation reports and call the customers to determine what if anything Viega could have done to capture the order and talk about future opportunities.
- Quotes - Sometimes customers will send large bills of materials to this department and Inside Sales will write up quotes. Once the quotation is accepted by the customer, the job can be handed over to Supply Chain Services to load the quote into an order to be processed.
